WHITESIDES, BOLAND (?–?). Boland Whitesides, pioneer settler, son of Jonathan Whitesides and nephew of James Whitesides, was in Texas as early as April 1824, when he took part in a colony election. He was paired with his brother, Henry Whitesides, as one of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred families. They received title to a sitio of land in the area of present Brazos and Grimes counties on August 10, 1824. A conflict in their title and the deed given to Jack C. Davis caused some difficulty in 1825, when William T. Millican bought Henry Whitesides's land.
