WILBARGER, MATHIAS (1807?-1853). Mathias Wilbarger, son of John and Ann (Pugh) Wilbarger, was born in Kentucky, probably in 1807 or 1808, and came to Texas in 1829 to join his brother Josiah P. Wilbarger. In 1830, ten miles north of present Bastrop, the two brothers made a settlement. In 1850 Mathias Wilbarger resided in Williamson County. He died on February 20, 1853, at Georgetown.
