WALKER BRANCH. Walker Branch rises just north of Hurst in east central Tarrant County (at 32°53' N, 97°12' W) and runs southeast eight miles to its mouth on the West Fork of the Trinity River, four miles north of Arlington (at 32°48' N, 97°08' W). The stream is intermittent in its upper reaches. It crosses low rolling to flat terrain surfaced by sandy and clay loams that support water-tolerant hardwood trees, conifers, scrub brush, cacti, and various grasses. The area has served as range and crop land, although it now supports considerable urban development.
