WALKER CREEK
(Ellis County). Walker (Walkers) Creek rises near Interstate Highway
45 a mile east of Ennis in eastern Ellis County (at 32°19'
N, 96°36' W) and runs east for ten miles, through generally
flat land with occasional shallow depressions surfaced by clay
and sandy loams. Water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses
grow along the stream's banks. The area has mainly been used as
range and crop land. The stream empties into Village Creek in
the extreme eastern part of the county eight miles east of Ennis
(at 32°20' N, 96°28' W).
