WALLACE CREEK (Kerr County). Wallace Creek rises in south central Kerr County three miles north of the Bandera county line three miles north of the Bandera county line (at 29°57' N, 99°19' W). Intermittent in its upper reaches, the stream follows a southerly course for ten miles to its mouth on the North Prong of the Medina River, at State Highway 16 in Bandera County (at 29°51' N, 99°17' W). Rising in eroded hills on the eastern edge of the Edwards Plateau, Wallace Creek crosses an area characterized by shallow, stony soils and dense stands of live oak and Ashe juniper. Steep slopes and limestone benches along the stream give a stairstep appearance to the landscape.
