WALKER CANYON CREEK.
Walker Canyon Creek rises ten miles north of Matador in north
central Motley County (at 34°08' N, 100°46' W). The
intermittent stream is an important source of Hornica Creek, which
it joins (at 34°11' N, 100°46' W) after a northerly
journey of six miles. The area was a part of the Matador Ranchqv
and is average grazing land. Walker Canyon Creek flows through
moderately steep slopes with locally high relief, surfaced by
shallow to moderately deep silt loams that support mesquite and
grasses. Its confluence with Hornica Creek is eleven miles northeast
of Whiteflat.
