XABE (?-?). Xabe, probably a plains Indian, was reported by his captors, the Indians of Pecos Pueblo (Cicuyes), to be a native of Quiviraqv when they presented him to Francisco Vázquez de Coronadoqv as a guide in the spring of 1541. Xabe confirmed El Turco'sqv report of gold and silver in Quivira, although he stated that there was not as much as El Turco claimed.
