YELLOW BAYOU.
Yellow Bayou rises five miles west of Wiergate in northern Newton
County (at 31°00' N, 93°47' W). Intermittent in its
upper reaches, the watercourse follows a westerly course for thirteen
miles to its mouth on Little Cow Creek, five miles northwest of
that creek's junction with the Sabine River (at 30°58' N,
93°37' W). Yellow Bayou flows through gently undulating terrain
used largely as pasture and woodland, with loblolly and shortleaf
pines the dominant trees.
