YEARLINGHEAD MOUNTAIN. Yearlinghead Mountain is a mile north of Oxford in central Llano County (at 30°38' N, 98°43' W). At an elevation of 1,689 feet, the summit rises 360 feet above State Highway 16 to the east. The local terrain is flat to rolling, covered with soils of sandy and clay loams that support open stands of live oak and mesquite.
