BUCHANAN, JAMES

BUCHANAN, JAMES (1813–1836). James Buchanan, Alamo defender, was born in 1813. He and his wife, Mary, registered as colonists of Stephen F. Austin in 1834. As a member of the Alamo garrison, Buchanan died in the battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836.
