GILESBURG, TX

GILESBURG, TEXAS. Gilesburg was five miles northeast of Fiskville in north central Travis County. A post office was established there in 1899 with Eugene Victor Giles as postmaster. It was discontinued in 1901, and mail for the community was sent to Austin. A few scattered houses remained in the area in the 1940s.
