MOUNT OLIVE, TX (LAVACA COUNTY)

MOUNT OLIVE, TEXAS (Lavaca County). Mount Olive is six miles from Shiner in Lavaca County. It was settled about 1838 by the Culpepper family. A Baptist church built in 1848 was also used as a school. J. E. Hranitzky established the first store. There were no population figures available in 2000.
