BIG CREEK (FRANKLIN COUNTY)
BIG CREEK (Franklin County). Big Creek rises six miles southwest of Mount Vernon in western Franklin County (at 33°06' N, 95°17' W) and runs northeast for thirteen miles to its mouth on White Oak Creek, six miles northwest of Mount Vernon (at 33°16' N, 95°16' W). Loamy alluvial soils flank the stream, and the surrounding wooded area, which is frequently flooded, is used mainly as pasture.
