BOGGY CREEK (LAVACA COUNTY)

BOGGY CREEK (Lavaca County). Boggy Creek rises in a tank a mile west of Moravia in western Lavaca County (at 29°35' N, 97°01' W) and flows south 6½ miles before joining Live Oak Creek in a floodplain and disemboguing into the Lavaca River four miles northwest of Hallettsville (at 29°32' N, 97°02' W). Boggy Creek crosses flat to rolling terrain with local escarpments and a surface of thick, fine sandy loams. The local flora features post oak and various grasses.
