BRANDEN BRANCH. Branden Branch rises 2½ miles northwest of Forestburg in southeastern Montague County (at 33°32' N, 97°36' W) and runs south for 8½ miles to its mouth on Denton Creek, a mile north of the county line and a mile west of New Harp (at 33°26' N, 97°36' W). It crosses generally flat to rolling terrain surfaced by sandy and clay loams that support water-tolerant hardwood trees, conifers, brush, and grasses. The area has served as crop and range land.
