BRIAR BRANCH (WISE COUNTY)
BRIAR BRANCH (Wise County). Briar Branch rises a mile east of Alvord in north central Wise County (at 33°23' N, 97°38' W) and runs south for six miles to its mouth on Big Sandy Creek, one mile east of Lone Star (at 30°17' N, 97°42' W). The stream crosses mostly flat terrain with a deep surface of fine sandy loam that supports brush and grasses. The land has been used as range and crop land.
