BUCK CREEK (JOHNSON COUNTY)
BUCK CREEK (Johnson County). Buck Creek rises a mile southwest of Cleburne State Recreational Park in southwestern Johnson County (at 32°17' N, 97°35' W) and runs south for six miles, crossing under State Highway 200 three miles east of Glen Rose in Somervell County before reaching its mouth on the Brazos River, three miles southeast of Glen Rose (at 32°13' N, 97°38' W). The surrounding variable terrain is surfaced by shallow, stony clay loams that support grasses, chaparral, and cacti, as well as juniper and oak trees. The area has been used primarily as range and crop land.
