CHERRY BRANCH. Cherry Branch rises eighteen miles northwest of Burnet in northwestern Burnet County (at 30°59' N, 98°24' W) and runs south for two miles to its mouth on Deer Creek (at 30°58' N, 98°24' W). The local flat terrain has some deep dissections and is surfaced by shallow, stony soils that support oak, juniper, and mesquite.
