CHERRY SPRING CREEK

CHERRY SPRING CREEK. Cherry Spring Creek, also known as Cherry Springs Creek, rises twelve miles northwest of Fredericksburg in Gillespie County (at 30°26' N, 98°57' W) and runs north for twelve miles to its mouth on Hickory Creek, three miles northwest of Prairie Mountain in Llano County (at 30°34' N, 98°56' W). The spring-fed stream traverses an area of the Llano basin characterized by flat to rolling terrain that in places is deeply dissected. Local soils range from shallow and rocky to deep sandy and clay loams and support open stands of live oak and juniper.
