COPPERAS CREEK (CALDWELL COUNTY)

COPPERAS CREEK (Caldwell County). Copperas Creek rises just east of Delhi in eastern Caldwell County (at 29°50' N, 97°23' W) and runs southeast for 16½ miles to its mouth on Peach Creek, four miles east of Waelder in Gonzales County (at 29°42' N, 97°14' W). The surrounding flat to rolling prairie, with local escarpments, is surfaced by fine, sandy loams and dark, calcareous clays that support hardwood forest, mesquite, and grasses.
