COTTONWOOD CREEK (CORYELL COUNTY)
COTTONWOOD CREEK (Coryell County). Cottonwood Creek rises five miles northeast of Copperas Cove in southern Coryell County (at 31°12' N, 97°52' W) and runs northeast for five miles to its mouth on Cowhouse Creek, sixteen miles southwest of Gatesville (at 31°14' N, 97°49' W). It traverses steep slopes and benches surfaced by shallow clay loam that supports juniper, live oak, mesquite, and grasses.
