COX BRANCH. Cox Branch rises four miles east-northeast of Walnut Springs in northern Bosque County (at 32°06' N, 97°42' W) and runs south for almost five miles to its mouth on Steele Creek (at 32°02' N, 97°40' W). The creek traverses flat to rolling prairie surfaced by dark clay loam soils over limestone. Local vegetation includes oak, juniper, mesquite, and grasses.
