CHAPPELL CREEK. Chappell Creek rises in southeastern Comanche County (at 31°46' N, 98°22' W) and runs seven miles northeast to its mouth on the Leon River, four miles southeast of Gustine (at 31°51' N, 98°19' W). It crosses flat terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
