CHIMNEY CREEK (FLOYD COUNTY)
CHIMNEY CREEK (Floyd County). Chimney Creek rises on the eastern edge of the Caprock in extreme eastern Floyd County (at 34°02' N, 101°04' W) and runs east six miles to its mouth on Mott Creek, eight miles west of Matador in western Motley County (at 34°03' N, 100°59' W). The surrounding moderately steep slopes with locally high relief are surfaced by shallow to moderately deep silt loams that support mesquite and grasses.
