CHARCO CREEK (GOLIAD COUNTY)

CHARCO CREEK (Goliad County). Charco Creek rises three miles northeast of Charco in northwestern Goliad County (at 28°46' N, 97°35' W) and runs southeast for seven miles to its mouth on the San Antonio River, two miles west of the Riverdale oilfield (at 28°41' N, 97°34' W). It traverses flat to rolling terrain with clay loam and sandy loam soils that support water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses.
