DEER CREEK (DEWITT COUNTY)

DEER CREEK (DeWitt County). Deer Creek rises eight miles west of Cuero in central DeWitt County (at 29°04' N, 97°26' W) and runs northeast for 7½ miles, passing through Blackwell Lake, to its mouth on Sandies Creek (at 29°07' N, 97°21' W). It traverses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by slowly permeable soil that supports water-tolerant hardwoods.
