DOVE CREEK (Schleicher County). Dove Creek rises thirteen miles northwest of Eldorado in western Schleicher County (at 30°56' N, 100°48' W) and runs northeast for thirty-four miles through Irion County to its mouth on Spring Creek, three miles southeast of Tankersley in Tom Green County (at 31°20' N, 100°36' W). It traverses flat to rolling terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
