FLAT FORK CREEK
FLAT FORK CREEK. Flat Fork Creek rises a mile north of Timpson in northwestern Shelby County (at 31°55' N, 94°25' W) and runs southeast for thirty-two miles to its mouth on Toledo Bend Reservoir (at 31°51' N, 93°57' W). It traverses level to moderately steep terrain surfaced by soils that vary from sand to clayey and loamy. The area is heavily wooded, with pines and various hardwoods predominating.
