FOREST CREEK
FOREST CREEK. Forest Creek, formerly considered part of Chrystal Creek, rises twenty miles northwest of Sterling City in northwestern Sterling County (at 32°02' N, 101°14' W) and runs northeast for fifteen miles, passing into southwestern Mitchell County, where it reaches its mouth on Mustang Creek, fourteen miles south of Westbrook (at 32°09' N, 101°04' W). The stream traverses generally flat terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses.
