HORD CREEK. Hord Creek rises just east of the Green oilfield in southern Karnes County (at 28°42' N, 97°48' W) and runs southeast for twenty-one miles to its mouth on the San Antonio River, eleven miles west of Goliad in western Goliad County (at 28°40' N, 97°34' W). It traverses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loam that supports water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses.
