LITTLE MUSTANG CREEK

LITTLE MUSTANG CREEK. Little Mustang Creek rises a half mile northwest of Bogata in southwestern Red River County (at 33°29' N, 95°13' W) and runs southeast for 13½ miles to its mouth on the Sulphur River, sixteen miles south of Clarksville (at 33°24' N, 95°06' W). The stream is intermittent in its upper reaches. The soils along the creek are loamy and clayey. The area along its upper and middle reaches is for the most part pastureland, but the land around the lower reaches is heavily wooded, with various oaks predominating.
