LITTLE IRON ORE CREEK
LITTLE IRON ORE CREEK. Little Iron Ore Creek rises ten miles southwest of Center in southwestern Shelby County at a point (31°43' N, 94°17' W) and runs south for nine miles to its mouth on Big Iron Ore Creek, in northern San Augustine County (at 31°36' N, 94°16' W). The soil varies from sandy to clayey and loamy, and the terrain varies from nearly level to moderately steep. The area is heavily wooded, with pines and various hardwoods predominating.
