MASON CREEK (HARRISON COUNTY)
MASON CREEK (Harrison County). Mason Creek rises a mile northeast of Longview in southwestern Harrison County (at 32°32' N, 94°42' W) and runs southeast for eleven miles through, southwestern Harrison County, to its mouth on Mason Lake, nine miles southeast of Marshall (at 32°24' N, 94°39' W). The creek was most likely named for Redin Mason, who was granted land near its headwaters. The gently undulating to hilly terrain of the area is surfaced by loam and clay that support pine and hardwood trees in places, and the land is used predominantly for agriculture.
