MORRISON CREEK

MORRISON CREEK. Morrison Creek rises two miles northwest of Maxwell in western Caldwell County (at 29°54' N, 97°49' W) and runs south for nine miles to its mouth on the San Marcos River, five miles south of Martindale (at 29°48' N, 97°50' W). The surrounding flat to rolling prairie is surfaced by various soils, from sandy loams to dark, calcareous clay, that support hardwoods, mesquite, cacti, and grasses.
