MORGAN CREEK (HOPKINS COUNTY)

MORGAN CREEK (Hopkins County). Morgan Creek rises one mile west of Oakdale in north central Hopkins County (at 33°16' N, 95°33' W). The creek, which is intermittent in its upper reaches, runs northeast for six miles to its mouth on the Sulphur River, three miles north of Nelta (at 33°21' N, 95°29' W). The surrounding flat to rolling terrain is surfaced by clay and sandy loam that supports water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
