PANTHER CREEK (KARNES COUNTY)

PANTHER CREEK (Karnes County). Panther Creek rises two miles east of Bainville in southern Karnes County (at 28°45' N, 97°54' W) and runs northeast for ten miles to its mouth on Escondido Creek, just west of Kenedy (at 28°49' N, 97°52' W). It is intermittent in its upper reaches. The stream traverses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses.
