POLECAT CREEK (MONTAGUE COUNTY)

POLECAT CREEK (Montague County). Polecat Creek rises east of Lake Nocona in northern Montague County (at 33°50' N, 97°37' W) and flows northwest for three miles into the lake near Shady Grove (at 33°52' N, 97°39' W). The creek flows through flat terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by clay and sandy loam that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
