PECAN CREEK (WILLIAMSON COUNTY)

PECAN CREEK (Williamson County). Pecan Creek rises three miles north of Taylor in southeastern Williamson County (at 30°38' N, 97°27' W) and runs northeast, through southeastern Williamson and western Milam counties, for fifteen miles to its mouth on the San Gabriel River, just south of the town of San Gabriel in Milam County (at 30°41' N, 97°12' W). Its banks are still wooded in places with post oak trees, and the surrounding gently sloping terrain is surfaced by clayey soils used predominantly for agricultural purposes.
