PLUM CREEK (SHELBY COUNTY)

PLUM CREEK (Shelby County). Plum Creek rises in northeastern Shelby County (at 31°51' N, 94°09' W) six miles northeast of Center and runs east for seven miles to its mouth (at 31°51' N, 94°03' W) on Flat Fork Creek. The creek traverses nearly level to moderately steep terrain surfaced by soils that vary from sandy to clayey and loamy. The area is heavily wooded, with pines and various hardwoods predominating.
