PLUM CREEK (Howard County). Plum Creek, also known as Kate Creek, rises (at 32°31' N, 101°29' W) about six miles east of Vealmoor in extreme northern Howard County and runs northeast for eight miles to its mouth (at 32°36' N, 101°26' W) on the Colorado River, in south central Borden County eleven miles south of Gail. The surrounding terrain consists largely of moderately steep slopes with locally high relief; soils are shallow to moderately deep silt loams and support mesquite and grasses.
