RED OAK CREEK (DALLAS COUNTY)

RED OAK CREEK (Dallas County). Red Oak Creek, also known as Bullock Creek, rises near the intersection of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway and U.S. Highway 67, in Cedar Hill in southwestern Dallas County (at 32°35' N, 96°58' W) and runs thirty-five southeast, northeast, and east to its mouth on the Trinity River a mile east of Bristol in northwest Ellis County (at 32°29' N, 96°30' W). Tributaries include Sanders Branch, Red Oak Creek, Powers Branch, Shiloh Branch, Grove Creek, Bear Creek, and Old Ten Mile Creek. The clay soils of the area support oak, juniper, mesquite, and grasses.
