ROCKY CREEK (SCHLEICHER COUNTY)

ROCKY CREEK (Schleicher County). Rocky Creek rises ten miles northeast of Adams in northeastern Schleicher County (at 31°03' N, 100°13' W) and runs southeast for twenty-three miles to its mouth on the San Saba River, ten miles northeast of Fort McKavett in Menard County (at 30°53' N, 99°57' W). The surrounding flat terrain has local shallow depressions and is surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
