RUIZ CREEK. Ruiz Creek rises (at 28°45' N, 98°58' W) in southeastern Frio County seventeen miles southeast of Pearsall and runs southwest, then southeast, for a total of fifteen miles before reaching its mouth (at 28°36' N, 98°57' W) on the Frio River, sixteen miles east of Millet in La Salle County. It traverses flat terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by sands and clays that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
