SNAKE CREEK (FORT BEND COUNTY)

SNAKE CREEK (Fort Bend County). Snake Creek rises in southwestern Fort Bend County just southeast of Tavener (at 29°33' N, 95°58' W) and flows southerly for about eleven miles to its mouth (at 29°20' N, 95°55' W) on the San Bernard River. The vegetation along its banks consists of mixed hardwoods interspersed with various prairie grasses. The variable terrain is surfaced by impermeable soil and calcareous clay.
