SPRING CREEK (Jones County). Spring Creek rises a mile north of Funston in northeastern Jones County (at 32°46' N, 99°48' W) and runs northeast for eight miles to its mouth on California Creek (at 32°53' N, 99°44' W). It traverses flat to gently sloping terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by silt, clay, and sandy loams that support mesquite, grasses, water-tolerant hardwoods, and conifers.
