SPRING CREEK (CALLAHAN COUNTY)

SPRING CREEK (Callahan County). Spring Creek rises two miles north of Clyde in northwest Callahan County (at 32°29' N, 99°29' W) and runs northwest for seventeen miles to its mouth on Deadman Creek, five miles southeast of Nugent in southeastern Jones County (at 32°38' N, 99°37' W). The surrounding flat terrain has local shallow depressions and is surfaced by clay and sandy loam that supports water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
