TEJONES CREEK

TEJONES CREEK. Tejones (Tajanes) Creek rises four miles northwest of Callaghan in central Webb County (at 27°53' N, 99°29' W) and runs southwest for eighteen miles to its mouth on Santa Isabel Creek, thirteen miles northwest of Laredo (at 27°45' N, 99°38' W). It crosses low rolling and flat terrain with locally shallow depressions surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support grasses, mesquite, chaparral, and water-tolerant hardwoods.
