TOWASH CREEK. Towash Creek rises two miles southeast of Whitney in west central Hill County (at 31°56' N, 97°17' W) and runs southwest for 3½ miles to its mouth on Lake Whitney, three miles south of Whitney (at 31°55' N, 97°20' W). It crosses generally flat to rolling terrain surfaced by dark, commonly calcareous clays to shallow, stony clays that support mesquite, juniper, and oak trees, and grasses. The area has served as range and cropland.
