TURKEY CREEK (HENDERSON COUNTY)
TURKEY CREEK (Henderson County). Turkey Creek rises six miles southwest of Athens in south central Henderson County (at 32°09' N, 95°54' W) and flows southwest for eleven miles to its mouth on the Old Channel of the Trinity River, in the southwestern corner of the county (at 32°04' N, 96°04' W). It traverses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by sandy and clay loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
