VENCHONER CREEK
VENCHONER CREEK. Venchoner Creek rises just east of Crafton in northwestern Wise County (at 33°17' N, 97°51' W) and runs southeast for 8½ miles, through flat to rolling terrain surfaced by deep, fine sandy loam that supports brush and grasses. For most of the county's history the area has been used for range and cropland. The creek empties into Lake Bridgeport two miles west of Chico (at 33°24' N, 97°54' W).
